Are you planning a celebration for a birthday or anniversary?

Is that afternoon tea booked in for the catch up with the girls?

These small events can escalate in workload and sometimes even turn themselves into mini weddings!

Well there are some very simple ways to relieve the stress and reduce the work involved:

  1. Hire a caterer

Most people think an external catering company will cost far too much money. In reality though I think you would be surprised at how cost effective this can be. Finger buffet food can start at as little as £8 per head.

Our recommendation is to cater for 70% to 90% of the guests that are attending on the day. The figure can be planned accurately once you know what time of day and what type of food will be served. In our experience though, we find most people never eat as much as you set out for them to do.

  1. Rent the china

Yes – we are not kidding!

Why create lots of washing up or use flimsy paper plates or even worse use plastic un-environmentally friendly ones, when you can hire everything you need, have it delivered and collected without any extra work from yours truly.

Not only that, you could even think about hiring vintage style china to create that retro look that is so popular now.

  1. Room decorations

So if we haven’t convinced you yet, some catering companies will also include table decorations and flowers to help create that special feel for the day.

Whether that is fun balloons and streamers for a youngster birthday or sleek beautiful roses for a hen celebration or anniversary, brief the caterers on what you want and leave the rest to them.

So what’s left?

Well, I think all it takes now invite the friends and family to join in.

Facebook offers a really easy way to invite people to events. It even lets you see who can make and allows the host to keep the guest updated in the build up to the day.
